BagWatch (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the BagWatch mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
BagWatch is designed with a “Privacy First” philosophy. Our data collection practices are as follows:
The app accesses your device’s motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) to detect movement. This data is processed entirely on your device in real-time. We do not collect, store, or transmit this data to any external servers.
While the app may request “Location” permissions to keep the motion sensors active in the background (as per iOS technical requirements), we do not track, record, or share your GPS coordinates or movement history.
Deactivation of the alarm may utilize Face ID or Touch ID. This process is handled securely by the iOS system. BagWatch never has access to your actual biometric prints or facial maps.
2. Use of Information
Because we do not collect your data, we do not use it for marketing, profiling, or advertising. The sensor access is used solely for the functional purpose of triggering the theft deterrent alarm.
3. Data Storage and Retention
Your “First Launch Date” and “Purchase Status” are stored locally on your device (via UserDefaults) to manage your 7-day trial and lifetime access.
We do not maintain any user databases or cloud storage for your personal data.
4. Third-Party Services
Payments are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple may collect information related to your transaction; please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy for more details.
We do not use third-party tracking or analytics tools that monitor your behavior within the app.
5. Children’s Privacy
BagWatch does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since no data is transmitted to us, the app is safe for users of all ages.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
